The manufacturing arm of GF Interiors Ltd is situated at our head office in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

Occupying eight acres in an old quarry basin, there are two entrances, one for goods large enough to cater for all sizes of transport, whilst the other is for staff and visitors with ample parking.

• Approximately two thirds of the site is given over to bulk storage whilst the remainder is occupied by the offices, factory and vehicle loading area.

• The factory building houses the bulk machine shop, bespoke machine shop, bespoke assembly shop, mass production assembly shop, spray/finishing shop, stores, sheet/hardwood storage and the two storey office annex.
  

Bulk Machine Shop

Houses the mass production machines such as two Weinig 8 head moulders, resaws, circular saws, cross cuts etc and not only machines for GFI but also for many other local businesses who require large volumes of moulded timber products.

Bespoke Machine Shop

Houses the more individual machines such as computerised 4/5 head moulders, spindle moulders, band saws, planers, cross cuts, tenoners / morticers, sanders etc which cater for the requirements of the bespoke joinery used on  GFI contracts.

Due to the size of our operation, we operate a production system of setting out drawing - cutting list - machining - assembly - finishing procedure. Components are the loaded onto carts for transfer to the assembly plant.

The palletised components from both the bespoke machine shop and the bulk assembly shop and are assembled by a team of experienced and competent joiners.

We are conscious of the need to maintain the tradition of apprentices and the need for skills to be passed on by the older operatives.

The completed manufactured items are then passed through  to the spray / finishing shop.


Mass Assembly Shop

This shop's function is two fold, firstly the mass manufacture of multiple items on computerised machines such as a standard CNC, a five axis head CNC, beam saw, edge bander, presses, post formers and profile sanders.

Secondly the assembly area for toilet cubicles, IPS systems, vanitory units, bank counters, tables etc.

Spray / Finishing Shop

This is a four bay spraying shop with drying area which caters for all types of finishing ie staining, polishing, waxing and painting.

It is well ventilated and  has good "daylight" lighting to ensure consistency of colours.

Adjacent to the spray shop is the finished goods area where products are prepare for final dispatch.

Stores - Tool, Consumables, Sheet / Hardwood

The tool store is where the various tooling is machined, sharpened and stored.

The consumable stores houses the day to day items such as ironmongery which is required both in the various shops and on the sites.

The sheet and hardwood store houses the manufacture materials which need to be kept in a stable environment to maintain quality.


Office Annex

The two storey office complex houses GFI main office suite as well as the production and setting out offices.

Production Office

The production office contains the senior members of the production team:

• Mass Production Manager
• Spray Shop Supervisor

Setting Out Office

Operating with 2D Autocad and 3D Inventor software, our setting out team ensures that the design concepts are developed into reality.

 Using the latest techniques, detailed drawings and material parts lists are produced to enable the factory to manufacture the items.

Transport

To cater for the flexible needs of our tight programmes and the sometimes restricted sites, GFI currently operate a fleet of three large and one small curtain sided lorries.

These may be supplemented as and when by local hire transport.

Health & Safety

To cater for the ever growing demands of health and safety, GFI formed a subsidiary called APM Ltd. to  co-ordinate and implement all aspects of health and safety on sites and in the factory.


APM Ltd. also carry out asbestos surveys and perform the role of  Planning Supervisor for third parties.
